Bombshells' Barback Murdered; Suspect Arrested

UPDATE February 22, 2021 8:34AM - Police have confirmed that the deceased man is in fact that of Brian Lopez. Detectives learned there was an argument between two subjects that escalated to a fight. Several people became involved and detectives believe Lopez was attempting to break up the fight when he was stabbed by the suspect, Rick Magana. Magana attempted to leave the scene, but the driver collided with two vehicles in the parking lot. Magana was detained by a Bombshells employee until deputies arrived.  

Deputies arrived and found the victim, Brian Lopez, suffering from stab wounds and provided medical aid until fire personnel arrived. Lopez was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. A second victim, a 46-year-old man, was found suffering from a stab wound and facial injuries and he is expected to recover.

Sunday morning had Lorene Drive blocked off to motorists as the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department investigated the stabbing and killing of a Bombshells' employee. 

Magana was transported to High Desert Detention Center and booked for murder.

Original story - An inquiry with Sheriff's Spokesperson Bachman revealed that at "1:23 am [Sunday morning] deputies responded to an assault call at Bombshells on Lorene Drive [behind Costco].  The victim was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased. Homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing." 

No other information, including motives was available at the time of the inquiry.

HDdailynews.com spoke to Bombshells owner Jenn Sargent as it was revealed on Bombshells' Facebook page that the victim was Brian Lopez, an employee of the establishment. Sargent told us that "[Brian] was a great guy with a good heart. All he wanted was to turn his life around. He was on the right path. Everyone who met him all said how thoughtful and kind he was. He will truly be missed."

An employee of Bombshells revealed to HDDailynews.com that the suspect who was arrested by authorities is Rick Magana of Victorville. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department as of Sunday afternoon were unable to confirm this information with our news outlet.
