On Thursday, District 1 Supervisor Paul Cook's office sent Director Kimberly Messen out to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin to meet the brand new Incoming Commander Brigadier General. Messen, according to Cook's office was pleased to attend the Change of Command ceremony at Fort Irwin.

The Supervisor's office gave special thanks to the outgoing commander Major General David Lesperance, acknowledging his powerful and effective leadership in defense of the United States. Lesperance is undergoing a transition to his new assignment in Korea.

Incoming Commander Brigadier General Curtis D. Taylor actually attended school in the High Desert. A former student of Silver Valley High School. The new commander called his new post a "homecoming."
