Good Morning, I’m happy to report that the City of Hesperia has awarded the contract for the construction of the Ranchero Road corridor widening project, this was the last milestone needed before construction could begin. The project will consist of the widening of Ranchero from 2 lanes to 5 lanes between Seventh Street and Mariposa Road. In addition traffic signals will be added at the intersections of Seventh, Cottonwood, and Maple. The at-grade railroad crossing that many of us know as a speed bump will also be improved.

As new COVID vaccine mandates begin to unfold with the latest effecting the students of Hesperia, the City council has requested a resolution opposing mandates, leaving the decision up to individuals whether or not to get the COVID vaccine to be added as an agenda item. Another resolution was also requested to support HUSD teachers that will not receive the COVID vaccine. Along with these resolutions a discussion item was also requested regarding a potential ordinance that would prohibit businesses from requiring proof of COVID vaccination to enter.

Hot Rod Halloween is scheduled for Saturday October 30th at Hesperia Civic Plaza Park from 2pm-5pm. This Classic car show Trick or Treat event will host many great food vendors and carnival games. For more information please go to HesperiaParks.com.

With Halloween comes an increased need to be vigilant while driving, as many families may be out Trick or Treating within the community.

As always I encourage our community to attend our City council meetings the next scheduled meeting will be October 19th at 6:30pm at Hesperia City Hall.
